This article is for FieldLab Mobile versions 1.5.1 and later.
Establish a Bluetooth connection between FieldLab Mobile App and your Ralston gauge.
Power on your Ralston gauge.
- Confirm that your gauge is Bluetooth enabled.
- Confirm that the Bluetooth antenna is connected.
On your mobile device, open the FieldLab Mobile app.
When prompted, allow FieldLab Mobile to use Bluetooth on your mobile device.

Scan for available Ralston gauges
Select the Scan button to locate available gauges.
Select Scan to find available gauges to connect to.
Connect to the gauge
You can connect to multiple gauges at once, if they are available.
Select the Connect button to access your gauge via Bluetooth
Set up your desired settings for the logging session.
Set the measurement units you wish to use for the logging session.
1. Select the gear icon to access settings for your gauge.

- If you're using a single-sensor gauge, your settings will be under the heading "Sensor A".
- If you're using a dual-sensor gauge, "Sensor A" corresponds with sensor on your gauge that has the letter "A" laser-etched into it, and "Sensor B" corresponds with the sensor on your gauge that has the letter "B" laser-etching.
Locate the sensor you want to change units for 3. Select Pressure (or Temperature) Units to access your list of choices.
Select Pressure Units (or Temperature Units) button to access your list of available units.
4. Select the new unit of measurement you wish to use.

Set the logging interval
1. Select the gear icon to access settings for your gauge.

2. Select Logging Interval
Select Logging Interval button to change interval
3. Select the new logging interval you wish to use. Each interval setting displays the amount of time you can log before the gauge memory is full.
Select your desired logging interval 4. Select Back to return to the Devices screen.

Run your test
Start Logging
While you are within Bluetooth range of the gauge, you can continue to view live readings on your mobile device.
If you leave Bluetooth range, the gauge will continue to log and save the readings.
You can re-establish your Bluetooth connection once you are back in range by selecting the Scan button.
Stop Logging
Select the Stop button once your logging session is complete. Your data will be automatically imported to FieldLab Mobile App from the gauge.
Review test data
1. Select the Data Sets tab.
2. Select the Data Set you wish to view from the list.
The Data Set Summary screen will display key information about your test.

View entire Dataset
Scroll to the bottom of the Data Set overview screen and select View Dataset button to see every logged point in your data file.
Export Test Data
When you share your data set it will be exported in .csv format.
Select the Share button to access the array of sharing options offered by the operating system on your mobile device. The sharing options available depend on your mobile device operating system and what Apps you have installed.
Here are some common examples of the options that may be available to you:
- Google Drive
- Microsoft OneDrive
- email attachment
- Text message attachment
