Use a FieldLab to Run a valve test with auto-detection of crack and reseat

Use this article if you selected "Auto Detection of Crack and Reseat" when you created your valve test in FieldLab Desktop.

The FieldLab interface is slightly different if you created your test with "Manual Marking of Crack and Reseat".
To learn how to perform a valve test where you mark the crack and reseat manually: Use a FieldLab to run a valve test with manual marking of crack and reseat

Software and Firmware Requirements
  1. Requires FieldLab Desktop App version 1.24.0 or later to create your test. You can update FieldLab Desktop from within the app if you already have it installed on your PC, or download the latest version for free.
  2. Firmware version 1.123 or later installed on your FieldLab Digital Pressure Calibrator. Step-by-step instructions for updating FieldLab Firmware.

1. If you haven't already, create a PSV/PRV Test Mode in the FieldLab Desktop App and add it to your FieldLab.

2. Make the proper connections.

Make airtight connections between the FieldLab, a pressure source, and the valve under test.

3. Activate the PSV/PRV Test on your FieldLab.

3.1) Select the Menu Button on the FieldLab
3.2) Enter the Test Modes submenu to view the list of tests installed on your Fieldlab.
3.3) Scroll to the PSV Test you wish to use
3.4) Activate it

4. Enter Set Point

Select the Up-Arrow Button to access the keyboard interface. Enter your desired set pressure for the valve and select OK to exit.

5. Start Logging

When you are ready to apply pressure to the valve, select the Log Button to start logging.

6. Increase pressure until the valve cracks.

7. Stop Logging

Select the Log Button to stop logging.

8. Accept or Relog

Review the results of your test on the summary screen.
If you are satisfied with the results, select Accept. If not, select Relog and repeat steps 5 through 7 above.

9. Repeat Steps 5 through 8 above until you have performed all necessary crack tests.

10. Run Seat Tight Test.

If no seat tight test is included, skip to step 11.
10.1) Adjust pressure to desired level for the seat tight test.
10.2) Select Start Test
10.3) The FieldLab will run a countdown timer for the amount of time you entered when you created the test in FieldLab Desktop.
10.4) Pass, Fail or Retest. When the test is complete, review the results on the summary screen and mark the test accordingly. You can also choose to re-test if you need to make adjustments.

11. Review Test Results.

Once all the crack tests and seat tight test (if included) are complete the FieldLab will present you with a summary of the test results.
At this point, you are done. All of your test data has been saved to a dataset on the FieldLab. You can view the data set, or select OK to return to the main screen.

Next Steps

Import the Data Sets (test results) from your FieldLab to the FieldLab Desktop App.

Instructions for doing so are here: Import Data Sets from a FieldLab to FieldLab Desktop.

Export data sets in .csv and/or .pdf format.

Once Data Sets have been imported to FieldLab Desktop, you can export them in a variety of file formats. Instructions for doing so are here: Export Data Sets from FieldLab Desktop.
